Primal Pictures 3D anatomy model, built using real scan data from the visible human project, has been carefully segmented to create an unparalleled level of detail and accuracy. All of the content within this program has been verified by qualified anatomists and by a team of external experts for each body area. Essential/Complete Anatomy cross–platform access was as equally great back in 2013/4, when I first purchased individual subscriptions for EA2 on both Android and IOS, as it is now. Since EA3 has been discontinued on Android, my past subscription was promptly restored with an annual subscription of the current Complete Anatomy app.

26 NOVEMBER 2018: Pearson and 3D4Medical are pleased to announce the release of HoloHuman, the world's most complete anatomy application for mixed reality and HoloLens. Adobe premiere elements 2020 1 2.

With HoloHuman, Pearson and 3D4Medical are transforming anatomy education around the world, bringing to life interactive life-size holograms of the most detailed and accurate anatomical models on the market. Launched in Denver at Educause 2018, HoloHuman is already being used by early adopter institutions across the world.

The technology for HoloHuman has been co-developed by Pearson and 3D4Medical, merging Pearson's market-leading digital learning technology with 3D4Medical's technology, design, world-class anatomical content and expertise, for which 3D4Medical has won many awards in the digital human space. This partnership builds upon 3D4Medical's Complete Anatomy platform for tablets and mobile devices and combines the expertise of both Pearson and 3D4Medical in the AR, VR and MR space.

HoloHuman allows students and teachers to work in groups using collaborative sessions where all participants can see and interact with unique 3D holographic models of the human body. This provides a life-like alternative to cadaveric dissection, and allows users to explore and learn about more than 13,000 separate anatomical structures. Using 3D4Medical's technology, teachers can create lessons and activities in advance of a class and save them to Pearson's cloud-based Holographic Content Management System (HoloCMS).

The HoloHuman technology comes into its own when a user wishes to identify specific structures, for example, the deltoid muscle into which intramuscular injections are given. While wearing the HoloLens, students can visualise the muscle and move into the body to more closely examine the underlying structures such as bones and blood vessels, allowing for a better understanding of certain anatomical structures and surgical procedures.

Mark Christian, Head of Immersive Learning at Pearson, said: 'Pearson is the lead education partner with Microsoft and 3D4Medical in bringing this exciting new learning technology to the global market. We are encouraged to see more colleges and universities start to recognise the potential of mixed reality as a growing platform in virtual learning and teaching.'

Learning

Pearson is working in partnership with six higher education institutions worldwide to better understand how this technology will amplify and extend learning in health sciences, namely Leeds University, San Diego State University, Bucks County Community College, RMIT University, the University of Canberra and Otago Polytechnic.

Niall Johnston, President of 3D4Medical Limited, said 'This is a great opportunity to partner with such an established publisher as Pearson on this state-of-the-art solution. The model set for HoloHuman is based on the same technology that we use on our Complete Anatomy platform. The extension of this technology to HoloHuman is very exciting for us and represents a whole new market and audience for our products and solutions.'

Emma Collins, Principal Lecturer at Otago Polytechnic in New Zealand, said: 'Being able to walk around the 3D models and view the structures from all angles was really great at helping students to visualize the relationship of different body structures and systems to each other. I believe it has helped to consolidate their learning.'
